PASAQUIAN COLLEGE OF EDUCATION Chapter 1 INTRODUCTION Most colleges and universities are faced with challenge and stability during college in time with the student’s selection of course. This phenomenon seems global throughout the educational institution in the tertiary. Students flock to courses which seemingly interest them but tend to shift to other courses at other times. From the point of view of development, individuals given a longer and healthier life span may change overtime and find out that an earlier occupational choices no longer satisfies them viewed from this perspective choices made in†¦show more content†¦Carrier guidance - It is a systematic program of carrierdecision-making process which helps the individual gain self direction Course- Refers to any four /five year’s college degree program of the University of Southern Mindanao. Economic factors - Refers to the financial support from parents / guardians has the studies of the student’s respondents Motivating factors - This include psychological, sociological,economic and mental factors which led the student’s action to shift. Psychological factors- These concerns with the students in trust and aptitude in the subject with stimulate them to shift. Shifting - It means to go through a change of course in favour of newly chosen one. Sociological factors - These refers to outside influence with reinforce student’s to shift from one course to another like parental pressure type of school they graduated and type of lodging house of students of the students. USM - University of southern Mindanao formerly known as Mindanao institute of technology (MIT), a premier University in Southern Philippines.
